Favorite Things!
These are a few of my...

I often get asked by puppy families what my favorite supplies are for my dogs so I thought I'd share here with easy links to everything.
I hope this is a useful list for everyone as I know all of these things have been great tools for us.
Food, Supplements, and Treats:
Purina Pro Plan has been our go-to for many, many years and I suggest it to all of my families. It's completely fine to switch to a brand that you prefer but it is best to get at least a small bag to help with the transition, as to not upset their stomachs. I would buy this in store as most pet food shops have a Purina program where you get a free bag after you purchase 10. You can submit the receipts online, if you order from Amazon, but it just adds another step to the process. Although we start with the chicken recipe, it happens often that chicken can upset the skin and coat of a lot of dogs so there are options for beef or salmon. We use the beef recipe on our older adults, along with a combination of added supplements.

As far as treats go, I limit how often they get them, to keep their weight, and health in check. I look for items that are minimal ingredients and easy of their stomach. Besides their favorites - carrots, peppers, apples, cucumbers - I've included the ones we buy most often.
Supplies and Toys:
These are a lot of the cleaning, bathing, and every day use items that I buy on repeat, as well as some toys and such. I did not link any harnesses as this is something you should try to personally fit each dog to. Some of my adults prefer very minimalist harnesses while others do not mind more structured designs. No matter which way you go, a full back harness is the safest option for your dachshund, and not a collar, while out on walks.
When it comes to toys, try to keep out anything that has loose strings, or rope, and anything with parts that can easily tear off. Dachshunds may be small but they can be aggressive chewers and can tear through weak made toys.

I did list two of my favorite shampoos/conditioners, one of which (PawFume) is very strong in scent (I use Show Dog) but lasts a very long time. I wash twice, with the PawFume brand being the second one so that the scent lingers longer.
